I have now completed the base of my house, I have created a home with a very intricate roof and a beautiful garden with a lot of vegetation. In fact I installed a roof garden with some vegetation there as well. The vegetation is very important for the LEED certification because adding plants is one of the best ways to lower the building carbon footprint. Because of all of the plants I added, after a certain point of time the building will have a positive impact on it's carbon footprint which is wonderful. After this I also installed solar panels, instead of having it on a slant I installed them between the 2 slants of the roofs so that they lay flat, this does not improve efficiency but It was more for a decorative choice. After this point I know have to install the many LEED appliances. Some of these appliances include a non-gas stove, natural ventilation, a water recycler, an HVAC system and much more. All of these different appliances should make the house LEED certified if all of the other objects in the home are not seriously negative to the environment. My plan to make sure all of the furniture and non-LEED appliances are not bad for the environment is by looking up the brand and products. What is wonderful about the site I'm using is that is shows all of the brands of the appliances and furniture you're using which makes my job of identifying all of the product's quite simple.
