Viability of solar panels

After meeting with my mentor Mrs. Natalia Carter, I was introduced to the viability of solar panels. The big thing that I understand is that about half of the world's land is viable for solar panels but even then we still only use .2% of the land we could be using. Also, outside of this this number should double by the end of 2024 which is even more revolutionary. Also, the National Grid highlights how “The carbon footprint of solar panels is already quite small, as they last for over 25 years. Plus, the materials used in the panels are increasingly recycled, so the carbon footprint will continue to shrink.” This is a critical point because not only does it last longer than most electronics, 25 years, but they are being recycled as well which means soon they will have little to no effect on the environment. With the combination of both the fact that solar panels will soon not affect the environment because they will be 100% recyclable and the fact that solar use will double in the next year, it is becoming a serious financial sector and it would be important to learn more about it for a possible position in the field in the future.
